BKP Ambulance District was formed over many months of discussion with the Hardin County, Ohio Commissioners. It was decided in 1974 that the formation of ambulance districts across Hardin County was needed. On December 10th, 1974, at midnight, the Hardin County Funeral Directors ended ambulance service and the 6 newly formed districts would take over providing patient care to their respective territories. Almost 30 years later, on July 1st, 2003, BKP Ambulance District became the first full time department in Hardin County. BKP Ambulance District is a tax based Political Subdivision serving Buck, Kenton, Pleasant, Cessna, Lynn, Goshen, and Dudley Townships.
BKP Ambulance District staffs 2 full time ambulances and employs over 20 public servants, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. BKP also hosts Continuing Education that is open for all EMS departments.
